January New Year New You
January New Year New You
There is something powerful about the new year that allows us to reset and challenge ourselves to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. With our theme this month – “New Year, New You” – we’re here to help you get motivated and stay on track. No more excuses! At the end of the month you’ll be able to add up your workouts, see your knowledge gained, and stay motivated to keep your good healthy habits going strong all year long.
February Live Where You Love
February Live Where You Love
February temperatures may still be cold, but there’s something warm worth celebrating this month – the place we call “home.” And with our “Live Where You Love” activities, you’ll have daily reminders of what makes Mosaic at West Creek so special. We’ll program events where we explore great hidden gems around the region while honoring our diverse culture and history. Living where you love is about making choices, and we’re glad you chose Mosaic as your community. We’re also glad to provide you with amenities that improve your days, along with great classes and interest clubs to make your living here even more meaningful.
March Green Thumbs
March Green Thumbs
March is the third month of the year, but most importantly, it’s the first month of spring! March is full of fresh energy, and we’re here to help you with your springtime goals and aspirations. Those might include learning how to plant a garden that attracts butterflies, bees, and birds; or learning how to ID a tree, or learning the best practices for container gardening.
We’ll also help you learn more about the reduce-reuse-recycle process, including what it means to “upcycle,” and ways to donate our time to community projects.
You might just come away feeling more generous and helpful, and giving the month of March two “green thumbs up.”
April Spring Into Action
April Spring Into Action
If it’s April, it’s Mosaic at West Creek’s “Spring into Action” month, and because beautiful April days and evenings mean we’re out and about more, it’s a good time to think about our wellbeing and safety – and we’re here to assist. Plans may include hosting a local law enforcement official who will explain Neighborhood Watch programs, or hosting a self-defense class with a direct focus on protecting our physical safety. Also, with warmer weather, more outdoor gatherings come into play. Our programming goal is to take a cue from Mother Nature, who is good at reminding us that change is okay. In this way, we’re reminded to try new hobbies or exercises, and make friends. We’ll keep the schedule loaded and ready for you to “Spring into Action” where it suits you best!
May Mamapalooza
May Mamapalooza
At Mosaic, May is for Mom, and because moms come in all sorts and kinds, we are taking time to honor not only mothers, but caretakers, guardians, and more. This is our way of spoiling you with a bit of mom-maintenance as an extra special thanks for all the hard work and care you’ve given to family, friends, and pets over the years. May is also a time to remember all the men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedoms. We’ll honor them with a special community walk, community traditions, and more. These are a couple May highlights and as always, we welcome ideas on what interests you!
July Mid-Year's Resolutions
July Mid-Year's Resolutions
It’s July, and “accountability” is the name of the game. How’s that New Year philosophy from January holding up? Are you keeping to your New Year, New You commitments? Taking advantage of Mosaic at West Creek’s Wellness Wednesday fitness classes? If you’ve kept up and kept to it, good work. If you’ve slipped, that’s okay. Every day is a day to start again. And we’re here to pump energy into your efforts. We’ll bring in wellness experts and local chefs with tools, tips, and tenets to help you reevaluate or reinstate your health and fitness plan with fresh gusto. With an adjustment here and a shift there, you’ll be on track for a strong second half of the year.
August Road Trip Challenge
August Road Trip Challenge
August, one of the most popular months for road tripping, has rolled into view. If you aren’t so keen about being stuck in a car on the busy highways and byways, Mosaic at West Creek has you covered. Instead of the car or motorcycle, how about hopping on a bike and exploring the roads closer to home? To help you on your way, we’ll get to know the local paths and take some wheel-spinning mini-adventures and lazy day rides too. It’s our way of celebrating summer’s end from a new perspective.
September Good Neighbor Month
September Good Neighbor Month
September’s cooler temps and changing landscape makes us feel good. And speaking of goodness, this month we celebrate Good Neighbor month. Good neighbors make great neighborhoods and there are many ways to be a good neighbor. Good places to start are compliments and recognition, which turn casual meet-ups into solid connections. When we positively affect someone near us, they do the same for someone near them, and onward and outward the ring of kindness grows.
October Healthy Harvest
October Healthy Harvest
Pumpkin spice and everything nice – fall has definitely arrived! While it’s hard to say goodbye to summer, there is so much to love about fall. The days may be getting shorter, but our fall bucket lists are long and packed with apple orchards, pumpkin farms, fall hikes, bonfires, and creative endeavors inspired by nature. Creativity, after all, puts the brain to work and does the heart good. It’s also a beautiful time of year to get out-and-about in Richmond, so keep an eye out for outings that keep us moving while enjoying the beautiful fall colors and scenery.
November Thanks Through Service
November Thanks Through Service
As we enter the season of giving, Mosaic at West Creek is chipping in to make November lively and service-oriented. We’ll aim to have The Conservatory become our central “Thanks Through Service” hub, housing a canned food drive or food packing event, a charity bake sale, and an open house highlighting local volunteer groups, pet rescues, and local philanthropic organizations. Attend one or attend all, and make a difference with donations of canned goods, baking or buying sale items, and your time and support. Volunteering is good for the heart and a bit of a workout too. We thank you for all you do to serve your neighborhood and community.
December Gifts With Meaning
December Gifts With Meaning
With the calendar flipping to December, the season of giving is already underway. With post-Thanksgiving sales, Small Business Saturday, and Giving Tuesday, it’s easy to become overwhelmed with giving and gift buying. Mosaic at West Creek wants to assist you with giving gifts with meaning. One such gift is the gift of connection, and we’ll do our part to bring family and friends together. With festive food and beverage events and cheerful socials, complete with activities, you’ll be glad you took time to connect. Another meaningful gift is the gift of creativity. So, ready your supplies and be sure to sign up for the many artsy workshops. To round out this month’s meaningful giving, we’ll aim to host a children’s donation drive. Giving books, card games, trinkets, and playthings is a significant act of sharing, boosting a child’s joy by showing them that the world is full of folks who care. To you and yours, please know how much we care about you, our wonderful homeowners.
